Big relief for UP residents! Govt scraps prepaid smart meters; moves back to postpaid

New Delhi: In a major announcement, the Uttar Pradesh government has scrapped the prepaid smart meters for electricity consumers and reverted to the postpaid billing system across the state.
All electricity connections will be operated on a postpaid mode, which means the government has introduced the old method, allowing consumers to pay their electricity bills after usage.
