Four products have been removed from Amazon due to safety risks. Local Authority Trading Standards notified the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) after hazards, including choking, fire and electrocution risks, were identified.

The items have since been delisted from Amazon due to the potential risks. The four recalled items include decorative water beads that could choke children, two electrical charging devices with fire hazards, and a cordless pressure washer that poses an electrocution risk.

As reported by GB News, three of the four products originated from China. Meanwhile, the fourth has an unknown country of manufacture.

The Chimoo Water Beads, sold in packs of 50,000 pieces, have been removed from Amazon. They pose a suffocation hazard for young children because they expand and can obstruct a child's airway when swallowed.

The product, which has an unknown country of origin, does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. Owners are advised to stop using it immediately and keep out of the reach of children.

The OPSS said: "Hazard: The product presents a high risk of asphyxiation because if the product is swallowed in its hydrated form, it can block a young child's airway.

"Corrective action: Warning consumers of the risks. The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).

The HUSGW Battery Charger, a black and red device made in China, poses a fire risk due to inadequate insulation between its input and output circuits. The unit, which has been removed from Amazon, can overheat and ignite.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. As well as being removed from Amazon, it is also being rejected at the UK border.

The OPSS said: "Hazard: The product presents a high risk of fire because the isolation between the input and output circuits does not meet the required insulation standards.

"Corrective action: The import has been rejected at the border. The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon)."

The GVKRLXZ AC Adapter, also from China, presents a fire and explosion risk due to an incorrectly rated fuse that may fail to prevent overheating. The adapter also lacks proper markings and its mains plug does not meet BS 1363 standards.

The product has been removed from Amazon and authorities are intercepting it at the border. It does not meet the requirements of the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994 or the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

The OPSS said: "Hazard: The product presents a serious risk of fire because the fuse is incorrectly rated and may not operate as intended to prevent overheating.

"Corrective action: The import has been rejected at the border."

The Yongkang Champagne Cordless Pressure Washer has also been recalled as it poses a serious electrocution risk. The product breaches the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.

The OPSS said: "Hazard: The product presents a serious risk of electric shock because, under fault conditions, insulation may break down and cause accessible metal parts to become live.

"Corrective action: The import has been rejected at the border and the listing removed by the online marketplace (Amazon)."
