Bhopal. India’s men’s and women’s Under-18 hockey teams will play a four-match series against Australia here from May 15 to 20 as part of their preparations for the Asia Cup. This series is very important in view of the preparations for the Under-18 Asia Cup starting in Kakamigahara, Japan later this month. A practice camp was also organized for these two teams from April 19 at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) center here.
Men’s team coach Sardar Singh said, “The main focus during this camp has been to strengthen the basic skills and abilities of the players in all departments, so that they are better prepared for the demands of modern hockey. The match against Australia Under-18 team is very important for our preparation.
Women’s team coach Rani Rampal said, “The match against Australia Under-18 team will be a great opportunity for the players to play at a high level and prepare for the Under-18 Asia Cup. This is an opportunity for every player to showcase his ability and his experience.
