The Mumbai Indians clinched a thrilling victory over the Lucknow Super Giants, winning by six wickets at the Wankhede Stadium during Match 47 of the Indian Premier League. After being asked to bat first, the Lucknow Super Giants got off to a blazing start in the powerplay, with Mitchell Marsh taking the fight to the MI bowlers.

He was soon joined by Nicholas Pooran, who seemed to have found his rhythm again, looking sharp and in form. Pooran unleashed a flurry of boundaries, racing to his half-century in just 16 balls his first of the season. Together, they built a formidable partnership, adding 94 runs in just 35 balls, with Marsh playing a supporting role for most of the innings.

The Super Giants appeared set to post a score well over 250, but then the Mumbai Indians showcased some exceptional bowling. Corbin Bosch struck twice in one over, dismissing both Pooran and Marsh, which severely hampered the LSG innings. Aiden Markram managed to score an unbeaten 31 off 25 balls, while Himmat Singh contributed a solid 40 off 31 balls, but the Mumbai Indians tightened their grip in the death overs, limiting the Lucknow Super Giants to a total of 228/5.

In response, the Mumbai Indians came out swinging, with Ryan Rickelton and the returning Rohit Sharma taking the Super Giants' bowlers to task. The duo put together an impressive 143-run partnership in just 65 balls, laying a strong foundation for the chase.

Rickelton eventually fell for a well-crafted 83 off just 32 balls, but Rohit continued to shine, scoring a brilliant 84 off 44 balls in his comeback from a hamstring injury. Naman Dhir chipped in with a quickfire 23 off 12 balls, remaining not out as he guided the Mumbai Indians to victory with eight balls to spare, marking the team's highest run-chase in IPL history.
