Katie Price has broken her silence after a police officer was sacked from the force for using her disabled son Harvey's name as a slur. Sergeant Natalie Dolan was dismissed from Greater Manchester Police last Thursday (April 30) after a misconduct hearing, in which the disciplinary panel heard she referred to some recruits as "Harveys".
Dolan was involved in training recruits, and sent messages to a colleague implying some could not read and referring to them as Harveys. One WhatsApp message sent in 2021 read: "And then you have all the Harveys who need to be read to." The 48-year-old was also accused of sending other inappropriate messages and was sacked.
The panel concluded she breached the expectation of GMP officers to act with integrity, and stated she "acted in a way that was a serious departure from expected ethical standards."
Now Katie has broken her silence, telling The Sun: "This is not only discriminatory against anyone with a disability or complex needs but, speaking as a mother, it's disgusting how hurtful and upset it's made me.
"It has caused anxiety and stress. Constantly I feel I have to protect my children from trolls, and especially Harvey as he's an easy target because he can't answer back."
23-year-old Harvey has Prader-Willi syndrome and autism, and is partially blind due to septo-optic dysplasia.
Harvey has also struggled with obesity, leaving Katie worried her son will suffer a heart attack when he reached almost 30 stone.
Katie says Harvey "snores and wheezes" when asleep, and admitted she is concerned about his breathing.
