US president Donald Trump was quizzed about his health live on TV after reporters spotted bruising on his hand - and admitted one day he will say he is "not feeling well". Trump was live from Air Force One when he was asked "are you okay?" by a journalist who spotted dark bruising on the back of his hand.

He responded: "I'm very good. I clipped it on the table. So I put a little... what do they call it... cream on it. But I clipped it. I would say take aspirin if you like your heart, but don't take aspirin if you don't want to have a little bruising. I take the big aspirin. And when you take the big aspirin, they tell you that you bruise. The doctors said, 'You don't have to take that, sir. You're very healthy.' I said, 'I'm not taking any chances.' That's one of the side effects of taking aspirin."

At the White House, Trump went on to make further admissions about his health, this time regarding the cognitive tests he has taken during his two terms as president.

He said: "I'm not a senior. I'm far younger... I feel the same as I felt 50 years ago. I'll say, 'I'm not feeling well'. Someday I might say that. Actually, I won't have to say it, because you'll be able to see it just like you did in the last administration.

"In my opinion, anybody running for president or vice president should take a cognitive test. And... no president has ever taken one except me - I've taken three of them. I've aced each one. One in the first administration, two over here. And whenever they get a little sassy, like 'Does he still have it? Does he still have what it takes?' I say, 'All right, I'll take another one'."

He went on: "And they are hard. There are many people in this room I know who are smart - they're not gonna ace them. There are many people standing back there, the fake news media... I'd like to have them...

"The first question is very easy and they always show the first question. You have a lion, a bear, an alligator and a squirrel. Okay? Which is the squirrel? So they show that question, and then the first four or five questions are... they get a little more difficult.

"By the time you get to the middle they are tough."
