An important cabinet meeting was called in the Ministry under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday (5 May 2026) in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. In this meeting, many big decisions can be taken regarding the common people, development of the state and farmers.
In the meeting, a proposal to promoting the production of pulse crops and giving bonus can be made to encourage the farmers. According to sources, the Mohan government may also implement a special bonus scheme to increase the production of crops like lentils and urad. This scheme can be implemented in two phases. Lentil-urad can be included in the first phase and gram-tur in the second phase.
Its objective is to give impetus to the Centre’s ‘National Pulses Self-Reliance Mission’ in the state. The aim of this mission is to increase the production of pulses in the country from 242 lakh tonnes to 350 lakh tonnes by the year 2030-31, along with increasing the area under cultivation. Farmers can be given additional bonus over the Minimum Support Price (MSP) on the production of these crops. There is discussion that in addition to the minimum support price (MSP), urad producing farmers can be given a bonus of up to Rs 600 per quintal.
There may also be a proposal to establish 5 new pulse mills within the state. Giving subsidy for this can be considered. The proposal for continuity of schemes of various departments can also be approved. A proposal to continue some schemes of the Women and Child Development and Public Works Department for the next five years can be brought in the meeting. Let us tell you that In the last cabinet meeting, approval was given to continue schemes worth Rs 53 thousand crore till 2031.
