Material

Watermelon peels (white part) – 2 cups
Milk – 1 cup
Sugar – ½ cup
Ghee – 2-3 spoons
Cardamom powder – ½ teaspoon
Dry fruits (cashews, almonds) – chopped
Raisins – 1–2 teaspoons

Method

  1. First of all, remove the green part of the watermelon peel completely and grate only the white part.
  2. Boil the grated peels in water for 5-7 minutes, then filter the water and set it aside. This removes the rawness.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan, add boiled peels and fry for 4-5 minutes. Now add milk to it and cook on medium flame, until the milk dries completely.
  4. Add sugar and keep stirring continuously. Then add cardamom powder and mix well. Finally add chopped cashews, almonds and raisins and cook for 2-3 minutes more. Turn off the gas and serve hot or cold as you wish.

tips

  1. To make the halwa more rich, you can also add some khoya.
  2. If you use jaggery instead of sugar, both taste and health will increase.
  3. If you want, you can also add some saffron in it.
