In the cabinet meeting held in Lucknow on Monday, the Uttar Pradesh government took such decisions which will directly impact the common people, farmers, youth and industries. In this meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, where initiatives were taken to give global recognition to local cuisine, many important decisions were taken like increasing compensation for farmers, deciding transfer policy and increasing employment. These decisions are being seen as an attempt to give a new direction to both the economy and administrative system of the state.

'One district-one dish' scheme: Local taste will get global platform

The government has approved the 'One District-One Cuisine' scheme on the lines of 'One District-One Product'. Its objective is to identify the traditional cuisine of every district and establish it as a brand in the market. Under this scheme:

  • Branding, packaging and marketing of traditional dishes will be done
  • Focus will be on improving quality and increasing shelf life
  • Subsidy up to 25% to artisans and entrepreneurs (maximum ₹20 lakh)
  • Total budget set at ₹150 crore

Dishes like Petha of Agra, Peda of Mathura and Imarti of Jaunpur can now make a place in the international market.

New transfer policy 2026-27: Transfers will take place till May 31

The Cabinet has approved the new transfer policy for government employees. Key Points:

  • All transfers will be completed by 31 May 2026
  • Transfer mandatory on completion of 3 years (district) and 7 years (division)
  • Transfer up to 20% of Group 'A' and 'B' and 10% of Group 'C' and 'D'
  • Transfers through merit based online system
  • Priority given to parents of disabled children

The objective of this policy is to increase transparency and maintain administrative balance.

Strictness in PWD: Now there will be a break on shoddy work

The government has implemented a new tender process to improve the quality in the Public Works Department.

  • Strict standards in projects above ₹5 crore
  • Additional security from those taking tender at low rates
  • Special inquiry on low bid more than 15%

Through this, an attempt has been made to stop shoddy construction works and increase transparency.

Big decision for farmers: Double compensation on high tension lines

The government has given big relief to the farmers affected by high tension power lines. Under the new system:

  • 200% compensation on the land below the tower
  • 30% compensation on land falling in line corridor
  • Overall farmers get 21% to 33% more profit

This decision is considered important for increasing the income of farmers and ensuring their participation in power projects.

Promotion of textile park and infrastructure

10 textile parks will be developed in the state, for which the land of closed mills will be used. At the same time, a road project worth ₹546 crore has been approved in Lucknow, which will strengthen industrial connectivity and reduce logistics costs.

CM fellow in every district for 'one trillion dollar' target

The government has decided to deploy two expert fellows in every district:

  • An Economic Development Fellow
  • a data analyst fellow

Their job will be to monitor development plans and make data-based strategies. The selected fellows will be given a monthly salary of ₹50,000 and other facilities.

  • E-evidence and e-summon system through digital system
  • Community service instead of jail for minor crimes
  • ₹653 crore hi-tech power substation in Noida-Yamuna region
