Allah Ghazanfar made a big mark for Mumbai Indians in their IPL 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium. The young spinner now has six wickets in the powerplay this season, which is the most by any Mumbai Indians spinner in one IPL season.
He went past the old record held by Harbhajan Singh, who had taken five wickets in the powerplay during the 2011 season. This is a big moment for Ghazanfar and also for the team.
The third over of the match provided its critical moment when Ghazanfar took Josh Inglis' wicket. He bowled a carrom ball, and Inglis tried to play a shot but mistimed it. Suryakumar Yadav ran back and completed a safe catch. Inglis scored 13 runs off just 5 balls before getting out.
Ghazanfar provides his best value to Mumbai during this season's first match. He helps the team win matches by taking powerplay wickets which is his main duty.
