Actually, T20 cricket is completely a game of batsmen, in which matches are won by hitting as many fours and sixes as possible. But no matter how good a team's batting is, if its bowling is not working at all then it has to suffer the consequences. The biggest example of this in IPL 2026 is Mumbai Indians, whose bowling has been a flop this season. In this too, the lackluster performance of the team's biggest bowler Jasprit Bumrah is taking a heavy toll on the team, who is being hit by anyone and getting beaten badly at home.
Bumrah was once again the target of the batsmen against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday 4th May at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The star pacer of Mumbai Indians got 2 overs in the powerplay but he got beaten in both. In the first over he got 10 runs including 2 fours but in the next over he got thrashed badly. This was the fourth over of the innings, in which Mitchell Marsh hit a six and two fours in 3 consecutive balls.
Bumrah's worst condition in Wankhede
In this way, Bumrah gave away 31 runs in his first 2 overs. Although he made some comeback in the next 2 overs but still could not get the wicket. Overall, Bumrah gave away 45 runs in his 4 overs. But this is not the first time, rather Bumrah's story has been like this throughout this season. The batsmen did not face much trouble against him this time and a lot of fours and sixes were hit against Bumrah. Especially in his home ground Wankhede, Bumrah's performance has been very poor this season. In the first 6 matches played on this ground, Bumrah has got only 1 wicket, while he gave away 245 runs during this period. This is the worst record of Bumrah's Wankhede Stadium in IPL history.
Only 3 wickets in 10 matches
The condition of Bumrah's bowling against Lucknow was such that he took a wicket in his third over but there he made the mistake of no-ball. Due to this the wicket slipped from his hands. Even on a free hit, the batsman was caught, which would not have been out anyway, but that ball also became a no-ball. Overall, Bumrah made 3 no-balls in the first 3 overs, while he did not get a single wicket. In this way, till the 10th match of IPL 2026, only 3 wickets had come in Bumrah's account.
