Atul Bora, the president of the Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) and the state's agriculture minister, has successfully maintained his dominance in the Bokakhat assembly constituency, achieving a remarkable hat-trick of victories. According to official data released by the Election Commission of India (ECI), Bora has secured this seat for the third consecutive time.

In this election, Bora triumphed over his closest rival, Hari Prasad Saikia of the Raijor Dal, by a significant margin of 60,537 votes. Bora received a total of 80,987 votes, while Saikia garnered only 20,450 votes. He has previously served as a minister in the governments of Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Bora has a history of political activism, having been a member of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) during the anti-foreigners movement. He represented the Golaghat assembly constituency from 1996 to 2016 before shifting to the nearby Bokakhat area, where he has now won three elections in a row. Additionally, he served as a minister in the AGP government led by Prafulla Kumar Mahanta from 1996 to 2001.

The electorate of Bokakhat has once again endorsed Atul Bora's experience and the developmental initiatives undertaken in the region. His substantial victory over regional competitors like the Raijor Dal indicates that the AGP's support base remains robust in this part of Upper Assam.
