Epigamia Names Ritesh Gauba CEO, Ankur Goel Elevated To Cofounder Role

Deepika Padukone-backed D2C brand Epigamia has roped in former Mars executive Ritesh Gauba as its CEO.

According to his LinkedIn page, Gauba last worked with Pladis (McVities & Godiva) as general manager for India for more than four years. Prior to that, he worked with companies like Mars, Britannia and Tata Motors in various managerial and leadership positions.

Overall, he brings more than 24 years of experience in the FMCG sector, spanning premium consumer brands and omnichannel sales and distribution.

In addition to the appointment of the CEO, the D2C brand also announced the promotion of COO Ankur Goel to the role of cofounder. Goel took over as acting head of the brand, alongside cofounder Uday Thakker and growth head Ajinkya Poundrik, following the demise of its cofounder Rohan Mirchandani in December 2024.

Founded in 2015 by Mirchandani, Thakker, Ganesh Krishnamoorthy and Rahul Jain, Epigamia began its journey as a Greek yogurt brand. Over the years, it expanded its product portfolio to sell artisanal curd, snack packs, mishti doi, and smoothies.

Besides its website, the startup sells its products via ecommerce and quick commerce platforms and offline retail. It has expanded its distribution to over 25,000 retailing touch points, including Reliance Fresh, Big Bazaar, and BigBasket, across 30+ cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata.

The D2C brand has raised a total funding of around $60 Mn to date from investors like Verlinvest, Danone Manifesto Ventures, DSG Consumer, Padukone, among others.

On the financial front, Epigamia is yet to file its financial statement for FY25. In FY24, it slashed its loss by almost 74% to ₹17.4 Cr from ₹67 Cr in the previous fiscal year. Operating revenue rose 3.3% to ₹173.7 Cr from ₹168.1 Cr in FY23.
