Countryfile star Matt Baker has shared a huge loss in his life. The "heartbroken" BBC star took to Instagram to share that his pet dog, border collie Bob, had sadly died.
The TV presenter shared a video which was a collage of images of them enjoying happier times together. Matt captioned the tragic post, writing: "It's with a very heavy heart that I'm letting you know our wonderful Bob is no longer with us.
He's been gone a while but I haven't been able to talk about it as I've been finding it so incredibly sad." He went on to share a bit about what his four-legged friend was like, personality-wise. "Bob was a brilliant dog," he declared. "He was there for me with his gentle soul as the ultimate companion through some of the greatest chapters of my life from raising our kids to all the changes we made on our family farm."
He went on: "It's broken my heart but I feel hugely grateful to have had him in our lives and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for everything he's taught me and brought to our family.
"I'm sure all you dog lovers will agree the reason we love our dogs so much is because the only time they break our hearts is when they leave us. RIP Bob X".
Some famous faces were among the first to send their love and support to Matt. Nicki Chapman wrote: "Sending love," as Gabby Logan echoed: "Sending you lots of love."
Ben Fogle added: "Oh Matt. I'm so sorry. Sending you so much love."
Fans then also sent their condolences. "So sorry Matt. They take such a huge piece of our hearts with them. But what a life to be loved and working alongside you every day," one wrote.
Someone else penned: "They never truly leave you Matt. He'll always be there, deep in your soul and missing you just as much I am sure."
Just a few weeks ago, Matt's fans flocked to his side once more as he shared a "painful" update. He made a candid post about his back pain on Instagram.
Alongside a video, Matt shared an update, "Hi all, I've been creating a rustic gym in our stable. I'm hoping to revisit what has been a pretty active past of mine.
"For the last few years, I've been dealing with chronic back pain, and I've honestly felt like a massive part of me has been missing, so I'm gonna work through what feels like a bit of a sticky wall to get myself back in the game.
"I'll take it gently, and thankfully, due to gymnastics, I know what I'm doing. #gym #training #farmlife #countrylife."
