New Delhi. A big step has come from India’s private space sector. Bengaluru-based space-tech startup (GalaxEye) is going to launch its first satellite ‘Vision’. This satellite will be sent into space from (Vandenberg Space Force Base) through (SpaceX) (Falcon 9) rocket.

This mission is considered important for India’s rapidly emerging private space sector, because it is expected to give new recognition to the country’s technological capability at the global level.

What is the specialty of ‘Drishti’?

The biggest strength of ‘Drishti’ satellite weighing about 190 kg is its advanced Optical SAR technology. It is a combination of optical imaging and synthetic aperture radar, allowing the satellite to operate day and night and in all weather conditions. Even clouds, rain or darkness do not affect its monitoring capability.

Through ‘Drishti’ mission, India can develop the capability to continuously monitor the earth’s surface. This will not only enable quick response in emergency situations, but can also give the country a strategic edge.

Experts believe that with this kind of technology, India can establish its strong presence in global space technology. Additionally, this mission may also impact regional balance, as advanced surveillance capabilities may pose a challenge to neighboring countries.

In the coming time, GalaxEye is planning to launch more such satellites, which will make continuous and accurate monitoring of the entire Earth possible.
