Sakleshpur (Hassan): A 35-year-old nurse died after being kicked in genital by a man for refusing sexual advances in Attihalli village of Sakleshpur taluk, police said.
The deceased has been identified as A.R. Ramya, who was working as a nurse in Bengaluru. She was a widow and had come to her native village on April 28 to attend her mother-in-law’s funeral.
According to police, a man identified as Chandru (41), a resident of the same village, allegedly forced Ramya for sexual contact. When she refused, he assaulted her, causing serious injuries.
Ramya was admitted to the Hassan district hospital, where she died on April 30. Police have arrested the accused. Preliminary information suggests that the victim and the accused were known to each other.
