Kharapur: The counting of votes for Kharagpur Sadar constituency in Paschim Medinipur district is underway on Monday. The Election Commission started the counting of votes polled in West Bengal Election 20926 at 8 am today.
As per the latest trends available BJP candidate Dilip Ghosh is ahead of his nearest rival candidate Trinamool Congress’ Pradip Sarkar.
Candidates who are contesting from Kharagpur Sadar: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dilip Ghosh, Pradip Sarkar from Trinamool Congress (TMC), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Gokul Khatick, Papiya Chakraborty of Congress, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate Madhusudan Roy.
In an exclusive interview to Biplob Ghosal of TV9 (Digital), Ghosh had earlier expressed confidence that BJP would win the WB Election 2026 with a thumping majority. Ghosh, former West Bengal BJP president, had lambasted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, saying that there was no governance by the TMC government. The TMC supremo has been only doing politics in her 15 year rule as CM, he said.
