Assam election: BJP leads in 9 seats in early trends

The BJP is ahead in nine states in the Northeastern state of Assam, as per early trends.
Several exit polls had projected the ruling BJP-plus, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, to win an easy majority with over 80 seats.
