Shubman Gill Left Speechless After Danny Morrison's 'Wedding Bells' Question at GT vs PBKS Toss

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill faced an awkward moment during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 toss between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings at Narendra Modi Stadium. Gujarat Titans captain, who won the toss and elected to bowl, and presenter Danny Morrison had a peculiar chat after the normal routine for a toss interaction.

Everything seemed to be on track until Morrison popped the marriage question to Gill and the video of his reaction was instantly a major talk on social media. The brief silence and expression on his face confirmed that he wasn't prepared for this while in a live match transmission.

Unexpected Question at Toss

The chat between the two soon went viral and here is what they said: Morrison asked, "Still, Shubhers, there are no wedding bells around the corner? Anything that we need to know about."

Gill was momentarily quiet after that before he responded, "No. No. Nothing."

Morrison concluded, "Good to see you."

The interview was then handed over to the captain of Punjab Kings, Shreyas Iyer, but the chat between Morrison and Gill instantly garnered much attention as it is a question rarely posed by interviewers during toss interactions.

Not The First Time

This is not the first time for Morrison to question Gill like this. The previous incident was during IPL 2025 when the former New Zealand pace bowler asked Gill when he is planning to marry. This public questioning of Gill about his personal life has been trending.

This is not the first time; Gill had expressed about his personal life in an interview stating:

"I mean, I've been single for over three years, and so many speculations and rumours link me with different people. And sometimes, it's so ridiculous that I would have never even seen or met that person ever in my life."

He further stated:

"Like, I know I'm so focused on what I need to do in my professional career. There is no space in my life to be with someone for 300 days a year. We are on the road, travelling somewhere. So there is hardly any time to be able to be with someone or invest, you know, the time to be with someone in a relationship."

For the match, Gujarat Titans made only one change in their playing XI as Nishant Sidhu was included instead of Shahrukh Khan. Setting the tone for the match in Ahmedabad, Gill opting to bowl first was a huge decision.
