Pat Cummins Registers Unwanted Record as Finn Allen Tears into Him in SRH vs KKR

Sunrisers Hyderabad managed post 165 in 19 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 45 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The score on the board might have seemed decent but the talking point became clear when the defending side took to the field.

Pat Cummins on the other side of things had a forgettable outing. The Australian speedster was making his return to the team after an injury lay-off. Having featured in only 2 games before this one, he was put to the test by Allen who eventually went on to create some magic with the bat.

Allen's Dominance Swings the Game

Finn Allen wasted no time and attacked Cummins in the fourth over of the chase. He played his shots all around the ground, finding the boundary quite easily at first and then, from nowhere, he started finding the six too. His explosive 29 in just 13 deliveries was studded with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

The Hyderabad skipper looked out of ideas on how to deal with the aggressive batting display of Allen who was on fire. Even though he managed to get Allen out in the end, the bowler ended up conceding as many as 27 runs from his over as the Kolkata Knight Riders were pushed in the run chase. This was Cummins' worst over in his T20 career, surpassing 23 runs in an over against MI in 2017 and 2022.

Cummins’ Tough Comeback

Cummins is slowly returning to form in the tournament as he had not played in first half due to injury. Before this match he had conceded 0/39 in Mumbai Indians game and 1/27 in Rajasthan Royals game.

This innings further piled on the pressure as he faltered during a vital stage. However, Hyderabad are well placed in the tournament and would be able to achieve a top 4 finish provided they don't let there form slip in coming games.
