Kottayam (Kerala): With the countdown to the Kerala Assembly election results underway, senior politician and BJP candidate from the Poonjar constituency, P.C. George, has made a bold challenge. He said that he is confident of winning by a large margin and even challenged sceptics to place a bet of Rs 1 crore.
‘Father and son to enter assembly together’Speaking to a private news channel, George said, “I will win in Poonjar by a huge margin. My son, Shon George, will also win from the neighbouring Pala constituency. This time, both father and son will enter the Assembly together.”
He also commented on the overall election outcome in Kerala, stating that no alliance will secure a clear majority and the state is likely to witness a hung Assembly.
George’s remarks have sparked controversy as he also criticised church leaders and the church-backed newspaper ‘Deepika’ after the election campaign.
With the results scheduled for May 4, it remains to be seen whether his “Rs 1 crore challenge” will prove true or backfire on him.
