Mangaluru: The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre has forecast a rise in temperature in the coming days in Dakshina Kannada district.
According to the forecast, areas including Kadaba and Puttur taluks are expected to witness an increase in temperature levels.
The India Meteorological Department, in its monthly outlook, has stated that minimum temperatures in some parts of the country are likely to remain above normal during May. However, certain regions in northwest India, parts of central India, and southern parts of northeast India may record below-normal minimum temperatures.
In the coastal region, temperatures have been rising over the past few days. Cloudy conditions are observed in the morning, followed by increased heat and sunshine later in the day.
On Saturday, Mangaluru recorded a maximum temperature of 33.8 degrees Celsius, which is 0.5 degrees below normal, and a minimum temperature of 26.6 degrees Celsius, which is 1.3 degrees above normal.
As per IMD forecasts, some parts of Dakshina Kannada district may receive rainfall over the next two days.
