West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee once again rejected the projections of exit polls after the elections in the state assembly, saying that it was just an attempt to manipulate the stock market. He asserted that Trinamool Congress (TMC) is going to win more than 200 seats in the recently concluded assembly elections.

While virtually addressing the party workers ahead of the counting of votes in the state on May 4, CM Mamata Banerjee congratulated them for their continuous struggle at the grassroots level. Expressing confidence once again on his spectacular victory, he told the party members that TMC will win and will win with more than 200 seats.
TMC supremo Banerjee also alleged that exit polls were being used as a means to influence market behaviour. According to party sources, Banerjee said, ‘Exit polls are nothing but an attempt to manipulate the stock market. He has done the same in 2021, 2024 and now also.
