Former Head of Royal Protection Dai Davies and royal commentator Ingrid Seward locked horns over the release of unheard recordings of Princess Diana talking about the breakdown of her marriage to King Charles III. While appearing on the news programme today, Ingrid said five hours of unheard tapes of Diana should be released.

"Sadly for Diana, people have always made money out of her, and that was one of her gripes," she said before adding: "But she is just one of those iconic people, I don't think she will ever be left alone." However, Dai strongly disagreed and said that almost 30 years have passed since Diana's tragic death, and she should be left in peace. The debate comes as it was revealed that a three-part documentary series, Diana: The Unheard Truth, will be airing previously unheard tapes courtesy of her friend Doctor James Colthurst.

They are meant to air on August 31, 2027 which marks 30 years since her death when she was just 36 years old and left behind her young sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

According to GB News host Stephen Dixon, Diana will partly discuss Queen Camilla in the tapes, and he wondered whether releasing them would be damaging to the King and Queen.

Dai went on to say: "In fairness, he is our King now and he hasn't got a right of reply. Camilla has not got a right of reply, so I think this is totally unfair if we are going to be fair about everyone and everybody.

"There are always two sides to a story, and I think we have to respect not only our now King and Queen but Prince William and his family.

"I really think this is appalling, and the more I am listening to everyone,I think it is even more appalling, and I am dead against it. If I could do anything to stop it, I would."

According to producers: "We hear her dreams for a future that could have been; a new chapter in which Charles goes off into the sunset with Camilla, leaving Diana free to carve her own path."
