Jasprit Bumrah has been lauded with the praise of the "world's best bowler right now" by Philip Green, the Australian High Commissioner to India. The statement made by Green to a news agency touched upon the uncanny style, pace and accuracy Bumrah possesses in all formats of the game.
Green said:
"Jasprit Bumrah is currently the best bowler in the world. His approach to the crease, utilizing angles that challenge batsmen, combined with his speed and accuracy, is truly impressive."
When questioned about the best Australian bowling line-up Green seemed to indicate the three-man army of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood in case they are fit.
Green added:
"If you consider the Australian bowling attack with Cummins, Hazlewood, and Starc all fit, I believe that would be a more formidable unit. However, for a single bowler, my first choice would be Bumrah."

Strong Career and Big Match Impact
Bumrah has arguably been India's biggest match-winner since his debut in 2016. Bumrah has played 236 matches in 279 innings bowling to an average of 20.49 with an economy rate of 3.72, taking 504 wickets. His 18 five wicket hauls in total rank him the 8th Indian wicket-taker across all three formats.
The 32-year-old has also performed in big tournaments. He was the 3rd leading wicket-taker in ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 with 15 wickets in 8 matches. His outstanding average of 8.26 played a massive role in India taking the trophy home.
The veteran continued that great form in ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, finishing as joint leading wicket-taker with Varun Chakaravarthy, who took 14 wickets in 9 matches at an average of 13.67, compared to Bumrah's 8 matches and average of 12.43, with both taking 14 wickets. Bumrah has produced consistently in big games and is one of the most revered bowlers in world cricket right now.
