Kellogg's has removed a much-loved breakfast cereal from its UK range, leaving some loyal fans disappointed. The cereal giant has confirmed that Kellogg's Frosted Wheats has now been discontinued in the UK. Kellogg's Frosted Wheats cereal is made from wholegrain wheat and designed to be high in fibre. Each wheat pillow is lightly frosted, giving a subtle sweetness while keeping the focus on a hearty, simple cereal.

It is often enjoyed as a straightforward, no-fuss breakfast that can be eaten on its own or paired with fruit or milk for added flavour. Shoppers reportedly began noticing earlier this year that the cereal was increasingly hard to find. Kellogg's has since said the decision is permanent.

A spokesperson for the cereal brand said: "As we evolve our cereal range for the future, we sometimes make the choice to discontinue specific products.

"While Frosted Wheats are no longer part of our range, we continue to offer a selection of other high fibre cereals like Special K Crunchy Golden Clusters and Bran Flakes to suit different tastes and breakfasts."

Kellogg's first launched the product in the United States as a large-sized biscuit. It was initially available in two flavours: regular and brown sugar/cinnamon.

In the 1980s until the early 1990s, the product was sold under the name Toppas in the UK. After disappearing from shelves for a time, it was later reissued as Frosted Wheats.

The new version uses smaller pieces of frosted wheat parcel than the original Toppas and contains beef gelatin.

One shopper reacted to the news saying they were "proper gutted." Someone else said it was "sad."

The product has a 4.7-star rating on Tesco. One customer wrote about the Frosted Wheats : "Absolutely love these. Great price, Low calorie, nutritious. The fosting is a light sweet touch and you don't have to put anything on them. Though I enjoy them with bluberries and/or a banana. I like a few of them as a snack too without feeling guilty. Great buy."

One customer who also gave the cereal five stars in Sainsbury's review wrote: "I absolutely love this cereal. It is tasty, whilst not being high in calories and I think it is the perfect start to the day. Very tasty and good for children or adults. Will keep buying this product in future."
