This historical film has been directed by Ritesh Deshmukh, who himself is playing the lead role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in it. During the promotion of the film, Riteish Deshmukh had told that Salman himself had expressed his desire to be a part of this project. He said that Salman had also worked with him in his previous films ‘Lay Bhari’ and ‘Ved’, so this time too, keeping in mind the friendship, he agreed to work in the film.
