The government’s trust vote was passed unanimously in the Punjab Assembly. During this time, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in his speech targeted the opposition and especially Raghav Chadha. However, after this the political rhetoric inside the House also intensified. In fact, in his address, Bhagwant Mann took a dig at Raghav Chadha’s joining BJP and said that “Tea and samosas have mixed.”
In fact, in his gestures he targeted both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chadha. CM Mann said that Aam Aadmi Party has been established with blood and sweat and the party stands firm on its principles. He also said that his government is working on the trust of the public and will not come under any pressure.
Confidence motion passed without any opposition
In fact, the confidence motion brought in the Punjab Assembly was passed without any opposition. During this time, MLAs of Congress, BJP and Akali Dal were not present in the House, due to which the resolution was easily passed. Out of total 94 MLAs, 88 were present in the House and voted in favor of the government. Through this trust vote, the Bhagwant Mann government tried to convey the message that it has a clear majority and the government is in a strong position. Although some MLAs remained absent due to various reasons but this did not affect the government’s position.

In his speech, CM Bhagwant Mann raised questions not only on the opposition but also on the current political situation of the country. In fact, he said that the Constitution made by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar is going through a phase of challenge today. CM Mann said that efforts are being made to harm democracy at many places. At the same time, he has alleged that issues like irregularities in the voter list, use of agencies and political pressure are weakening democracy. Along with this, while also targeting BJP, he said that ‘the party does not have its own leaders and it is including people from other parties.’
