In Bhopal, a significant event titled ‘Pranam! Udant Martand’ will take place from May 8 to 10, 2026, organized by Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in collaboration with Veer Bharat Nyas. The inauguration will be led by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at 10:30 AM on May 8. Senior journalist and former information commissioner Mr. Uday Mahurkar will introduce the theme, while Acharya Mithilesh Nandini Sharan from Ayodhya will preside over the session.
This media congregation will see participation from over 60 journalists, editors, writers, anchors, thinkers, educators, and media experts from nine states across India, representing various Indian languages. Notable speakers include Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh, lawyer and author J. Saini Deepak, senior journalists J. Nandakumar, Vishnuprakash Tripathi, Nagma Sahar, and many others, including Durgesh Singh, the author of ‘Gullak’.
Discussion sessions will cover topics such as television journalism in the digital age, the ideological foundation of Indian journalism, the media landscape post-globalization, and the construction of a new India, along with the national voice of Indian languages. An exhibition showcasing the glorious journey of journalism over the past two centuries will also be held, featuring live cartoon shows by eight senior cartoonists. The university's Vice-Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari stated that this three-day national dialogue aims to reflect on the historical journey of Hindi journalism, addressing its values, challenges, and future prospects. The event is supported by India Bhavan, Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute, and the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology.
Launch of Two Books
During this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will launch two books: ‘Makhan Ke Laal’, focusing on the experiences of university students, and ‘Cartoon Katha’. Special editions of the university's practical newspapers ‘Vikalp’, ‘Pahal’, and ‘Abhyuday’ will also be unveiled. Additionally, three documentaries created by electronic media students will be released. Cultural programs will be held daily at 7 PM throughout the event.
