Gardeners' World has been yanked off BBC Two this week, with stars including Monty Don taking to Instagram to issue an urgent announcement. The programme typically airs at 8pm on the channel before becoming available to stream on BBC iPlayer, but that will not be the case this week due to conflicting schedules.

Instead, BBC Two will show the snooker world championship from 7pm tonight (May 1), while Gardeners' World fans will instead have to watch on BBC Four at 9pm. The official Instagram account told fans: "Don't panic. we've not been snookered! Due to the snooker on Friday 1 May, Gardeners' World has moved over to BBC Four at 9pm. Or watch on BBC iPlayer. See you there!"

Advolly Richmond told fans: "Heads up! We have been snookered!! (See what I did there?) Just to keep you on your toes, Gardeners' World will be on BBC4 tonight at 9pm!

"I will be mooching through glorious historic daffodils and share the story of one special one."

Fans rushed to comment on the announcement, with one writing: "Viewers in the Netherlands will miss it. Is the weekend morning repeat still on Two?"

Another said: "At least it's not completely cancelled..."

While a third echoed: "Gardeners' World falling victim to BBC scheduling again." And a fourth fan said: "At last some common sense! Just move the programme to another BBC channel, simples! Thanks Monty."

Tonight's episode sees National Plant Collection Holder Caroline Thomson share her historic daffodil collection, located in Fife, with the team.

The collections are recognised across the globe for contributing to plant conservation and biodiversity.
