New Delhi: The most-awaited launch date of the first commercial flight operation from the Noida International Airport (NIA) has been announced by the authorities on Friday, May 1. The newly built airport will commence operations on June 15, 2026.
The Noida airport will open a gateway for the Delhi-NCR residents to travel. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Noida International Airport on March 28.
India’s one of the biggest airlines, IndiGo, will operate the first flight from the Noida International Airport. Passengers can schedule their flights accordingly. Followed by IndiGo, Akasa Air and Air India Express will operate their first flight.
The initial routes likely include Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. While several airlines from West Asia and Southeast Asia have also shown interest in operating international services.
The booking dates have not been finalised yet, as the officials confirmed that the flight schedule and slots are under discussion. However, according to the reports, IndiGo is likely to operate the highest number of flights from the airport, following Air India Express, which plans to operate two flights between Noida and Bengaluru per day.
Noida International Airport is constructed near Jewar in YEIDA city of Gautam Buddha Nagar, UP. Initially, around 1.2 crore passengers are in Phase 1, and further plans are to grow to 6 crore to 12 crore passengers per year.
