The central government has decided to keep the price of domestic LPG cylinders unchanged despite global pressure on fuel costs. However, the same relief has not been extended to commercial users, where prices have increased significantly.

The price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders has been increased by nearly ₹993 on average. This sharp hike has taken many by surprise, especially as it comes right after the election period.

• In New Delhi, the price has jumped to around ₹3,071.50 from ₹2,078.50
• In Mumbai, rates have increased from ₹2,031 to approximately ₹3,024

This is one of the steepest hikes seen in recent months, significantly raising operational costs for businesses dependent on LPG.

Despite the increase in commercial cylinder rates, the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders remains unchanged. This decision offers relief to households already dealing with rising living costs.

Since late February, when geopolitical tensions involving Iran began affecting global fuel markets, commercial LPG prices have been revised multiple times:

• March: Price increased by around ₹144
• April 1: Another hike of nearly ₹200
• May: Massive jump of nearly ₹993

This cumulative increase has sharply raised costs for industries relying on LPG.

The latest price hike is expected to hit restaurants, hotels, street food vendors, and catering services the hardest. These sectors rely heavily on commercial LPG for daily operations.

As a result:

• Online food delivery could become more expensive
