UP PGT City Slip 2026: A major update has emerged for candidates awaiting the PGT recruitment examination in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Services Selection Board (UPSESSB) has released the UP PGT Exam City Intimation Slip today, April 30, 2026. Candidates who have applied for this examination can now easily visit the official website, upessc.up.gov.in, to check the city where their exam is scheduled to take place.
When will the UP PGT Exam be held?
According to the schedule released by the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Services Selection Board, the UP PGT examination will be conducted on May 9 and 10, 2026. On both days, the examination will be held in two shifts: the first shift from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and the second shift from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The complete subject-wise and shift-wise schedule has already been released; therefore, candidates are advised to verify their specific exam timings according to their respective subjects.
How many vacancies and how many candidates?
Through this recruitment examination, a total of 624 Lecturer (PGT) posts—originally advertised under Advertisement Number 02/2022—will be filled. This time, approximately 4,64,605 candidates are expected to appear for the examination.
In which cities will the exam centers be located?
To ensure the smooth conduct of the examination, 319 exam centers have been established across 17 districts of Uttar Pradesh. These include cities such as Lucknow, Prayagraj, Kanpur Nagar, Varanasi, Agra, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Aligarh, Jhansi, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Basti, Banda, and Mirzapur, among others.
What is an Exam City Slip? The Exam City Slip serves as a type of pre-information slip, providing candidates with details such as the examination city, exam date, shift timings, etc. Please note that this is *not* the Admit Card; however, its advantage lies in enabling candidates to plan their travel and accommodation—particularly if their examination center is located in a different city.
**When will the Admit Card be released?**
The Board has clarified that the Admit Card will be issued shortly. The Admit Card will contain the complete address of the examination center, along with essential instructions. Entry into the examination hall will not be permitted without a valid Admit Card; therefore, it is imperative to download it in a timely manner.
**How to Download the City Slip**
If you have not yet viewed your City Slip, please follow these simple steps:
1. First, visit the official website: upessc.up.gov.in.
