Pune Metro: 4 new metros will run in Pune; Including 30 stations

Pune Metro | In the last few years, there has been a huge expansion of Metro in the city of Pune. Pune Metro is making the passenger’s journey comfortable and congestion free. Every day thousands of Punekars are enjoying Metro travel. Metro is also seen to save a lot of time for the employees going to the office. Now planning to build four more new metro lines in Pune. More than 30 metro stations are proposed on these routes, and discussions are underway between the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and ‘Maha Metro’ to decide their exact locations and layout.

An important meeting was held in this regard. In this meeting, it was clarified that while constructing metro stations, it is necessary to keep adequate space for vehicles and pedestrians without obstructing road traffic. Emphasis is being laid on planning stations keeping future traffic in mind. Pune Metro

Among the new metro lines, Swargate-Katraj and Vanaj-Chandni Chowk lines have started initial works. While the works on Ramwadi-Wagholi and Khadakwasla-Swargate-Kharadi routes are likely to start soon. All these works will be completed in phases.

In the first phase, entry and exit of metro stations (Pune Metro) had to be changed due to citizens’ objections at some places. So now, in the next stages, efforts are being made to avoid such problems by planning properly in advance.

Officials said that the width of roads, future flyovers and other facilities are also being considered while planning the metro project. The ‘Maha Metro’ and the Municipal Corporation are working together, and the Traffic Police is also included in this.

Also, the local representatives of the areas where these new routes are going to pass have also expressed their opinion. They demand that the local citizens should be considered while deciding the locations of the stations. These new metro lines will make travel in Pune faster and more convenient. This project will be important to reduce future traffic congestion.
