In Gujarat, the government of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has taken a big step for pensioners. A new initiative (Gujarat Life Certificate Service) has been taken in collaboration with India Post Payment Bank to simplify the verification process of Life Certificate (Hayati). From May 1 to July 31, 2026, pension holders will get doorstep life certificate service. This step of the government will benefit more than 5 lakh pensioners of the state.
An MoU has been signed between Postmaster General (North Gujarat Zone, Ahmedabad) Krishna Kumar Yadav and Finance Secretary Sandeep Kumar. Under which Gramin Dak Sevaks and Postmen will go to pensioners’ homes and make digital life certificates. For this, biometric authentication i.e. face recognition and fingerprint verification will be used. With this process, the digital copy will be ready in a window of minutes. There will be no need to evacuate citizens from their homes.
Facility will be available for free
No fee will be charged for this facility. The digital copy of the life certificate will be automatically sent to the pension office through the Jeevan Pramaan application developed by the National Informatics Centre. Pensioners of Gujarat living in other states will also get the benefit of this service. They can avail this facility by visiting their nearest post office.
These things will be needed
To get the light certificate made at home, pensioners will have to give Aadhaar number, mobile number, PPO number etc. to the postman. After which they can get their life certificate on the official website of Jeevan Praman. You will be able to download it by going to.
