×At 36, Tamannaah Bhatia continues to draw attention for her clear, glowing skin. While many assume it comes from expensive treatments, the actor has repeatedly said her routine is far more simple and rooted in what she learned at home. She opened up about the habits that she has followed since her early days in films, and how her mother played a key role in shaping her skincare approach.
Tamannaah started working in films when she was quite young, and that meant constant exposure to makeup, hair products and styling tools. Over time, this took a toll on her skin. She shared that it was during this phase that her mother introduced her to natural remedies.
In a 2022 video with Vogue India, “I am so excited because I am going to share with you my beauty secrets and some rituals that I have been following since childhood. These were taught to me by my mother when I started my acting career because I had to apply makeup and style my hair every day. After all those chemicals, I wanted to incorporate something natural into my routine.”
That shift, she said, stayed with her. Even now, after years in the industry, she prefers to keep things basic and relies on kitchen ingredients more than complicated products.
“These ingredients are quite drying for the skin. If you have already dry skin, then add more honey into your mask because honey will hydrate and moisturise your skin.”
This approach, she explained, allows her to customise her routine instead of sticking to fixed formulas.
According to her, this helps remove dead skin and leaves the face feeling softer and smoother. It is something she turns to especially after long shoots or days when her skin feels dull.
“I remember when I was younger, I couldn't use certain products because my skin would get irritated very easily. Back then, gram flour (besan) and yoghurt (dahi) were my go-to's.”
She applies the mixture evenly, lets it dry, and then rinses it off. The mask, she said, helps reduce redness, cool the skin and provide moisture. On busy days, she sometimes keeps it even simpler and just uses rosewater after exfoliating.
Over the years, Tamannaah’s routine has changed in small ways, but the core idea has stayed the same. She has often said that after experiencing heavy product use early in her career, she moved towards a “less is more” way of caring for her skin.
Her routine may not sound elaborate, but that is exactly the point. It is consistent, easy to follow, and built on habits she picked up long ago. And clearly, for her, it still works.

Focus on natural and adjustable skincare
One thing Tamannaah stresses is using raw and organic ingredients whenever possible. She also pointed out that not every skin type reacts the same way, so small adjustments matter.“These ingredients are quite drying for the skin. The exfoliating scrub she still uses
One of the two remedies she shared is a simple exfoliating scrub made with sandalwood powder, coffee and honey. She applies it gently on the face, avoids the eye area, and washes it off after about 10 minutes.According to her, this helps remove dead skin and leaves the face feeling softer and smoother. It is something she turns to especially after long shoots or days when her skin feels dull.
A cooling mask for hydration
The second remedy is more about calming the skin. This mask uses rosewater, gram flour (besan) and cold yoghurt. She mentioned that she has been using this combination since childhood, especially because her skin used to get irritated easily.“I remember when I was younger, I couldn't use certain products because my skin would get irritated very easily.
