Recently, Nepal Airlines has become a part of controversies after a post on social media. Let us tell you, through its post, Nepal Airlines showed the entire Jammu and Kashmir as a part of Pakistan on the ‘Network Map’, after which a controversy arose on social media. However, as soon as Nepal Airlines realized its mistake, this post was immediately removed from social media, after which the company apologized and called it a mapping error.

When did the controversy start

The controversy started on Wednesday when Nepal Airlines shared a route map on its social media handle which showed the entire union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as well as part of Pakistan. After this, this picture quickly went viral on social media accounts X and Facebook, after which Indian users expressed strong criticism regarding it.

The matter did not stop here, after this incident #BoycottNepalAirlines hashtag started trending rapidly on Facebook and many people urged the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) to take up this matter diplomatically with Nepal.

Nepal Airlines apologized

After facing global criticism, Nepal Airlines on Thursday shared a post apologizing and wrote "We sincerely apologize for the mistake in the network map recently shared on our social media channels. This map contained several major cartographic errors regarding international boundaries, which neither reflected the official position of Nepal nor Nepal Airlines. We immediately removed that post and are conducting an internal review to ensure that our content meets the highest standards of accuracy.

We greatly value our strong relationships with our neighbors and friends in the region and we are deeply sorry for any offense caused by that post." Let us tell you, this is not the first time that Nepal Airlines has made such a mistake. Such problems have come to light before also.
