The latest season of Prime Video's much-loved show The Boys has left the audience impressed. The final season has two more episodes to go, and the audience cannot wait to see how the makers end the show. In a recent interview, The Boys showrunner, Eric Kripke, addressed the storyline of Homelander (Antony Starr) claiming in the episode ‘Every One of You Sons of Bitches’ that he is God. Eric Kripke responded to the Prime Video show’s eerie parallel with Donald Trump’s recent Truth Social post, which featured an AI-generated image portraying him as Jesus Christ.
The Boys maker is annoyed with his Homelander joke being ruinedFor those who watched the latest episodes (spoilers ahead), Homelander has declared himself God. This episode was aired a few days after Donald Trump shared an AI image of himself as Jesus Christ. While Trump deleted the AI-generated image of him as Jesus, it makes us question if even extremely satirical shows like The Boys are reflecting the twisted reality that we all are living in.

In a chat with Polygon, Eric spoke about how he is annoyed because his Homelander joke was ruined, “I am really tired and weary of the world reflecting the show before we get a chance to do it. I appreciate the marketing. I’m just like, can you just please give us a chance to put some absurd satire out there before you prove that it's more realistic than we ever intended?.”
Kripke continued, “A month ago, when we were talking about marketing, I was like, Homelander saying he’s God is so out there. We have to be careful about how we even introduce the idea to the public because they’ll say he’s gone too far and here we are. It’s just really hard to out-satire this world.”
Eric Kripke further added that the fifth and final season of The Boys was written before the 2024 presidential election, adding that it’s “really f**king unsettling” how a plot point in an upcoming episode seems to have already played out in real life.
