DRDO CHESS Paid Internship 2026: The Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences (CHESS), Hyderabad—under the aegis of DRDO—has announced a recruitment drive for paid internships. A total of 20 vacancies are to be filled. Candidates up to 27 years of age who are currently in their final year of undergraduate or postgraduate studies in Engineering or Science—and who possess a minimum of 75% marks or a 7.5 CGPA—are eligible to apply.

**Who Can Apply for the DRDO Internship?**
Candidates currently in their final year of full-time B.Tech/B.E./B.Sc./M.Tech/M.Sc. programs in Physics or Applied Optics—from a university/institute recognized by AICTE/UGC—who have secured marks of 75% or a CGPA greater than 7.5.

Students currently in their final year of full-time B.Tech/B.E./B.Sc./M.Tech/M.Sc. programs in Mechanical Engineering—from a university/institute recognized by AICTE/UGC—who have secured marks of 75% or a CGPA of 7.5 or higher.

Candidates currently in their final year of full-time B.Tech/B.E./B.Sc./M.Tech/M.Sc. programs in Electronics/Instrumentation/Electrical/ECE—from a university/institute recognized by AICTE/UGC. Students currently in the final year of their studies who have secured marks of 75% or a CGPA of 7.5 or higher.

Students currently in the final year of a full-time B.Tech/B.E./B.Sc./M.Tech/M.Sc. program in Computer Science from an AICTE/UGC-recognized university/institute, who have secured marks of 75% or a CGPA of 7.5 or higher.

Students currently in the final year of a full-time B.Tech/B.E./B.Sc./M.Tech/M.Sc. program in Chemical Engineering from an AICTE/UGC-recognized university/institute, who have secured marks of 75% or a CGPA of 7.5 or higher.

**What is the stipend offered for the DRDO CHESS Internship?**
Candidates selected under the DRDO CHESS Internship recruitment will be provided a stipend of ₹5,000 per month.

A minimum monthly attendance of 15 days is mandatory; subject to this condition, a total stipend of ₹30,000 will be disbursed in two installments (₹15,000 upon the completion of 3 months, and ₹15,000 upon the completion of 6 months).

**What is the selection process?**
Selection based on academic merit (>=75% marks or 7.5 CGPA).
A recommendation/reference letter from the Principal, Director, or Head of the Department.
