New Delhi: Nepal Airlines has issued an apology for sharing an incorrect map of India on social media, showing Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan. The airlines said that the map, which contains inaccuracies regarding international boundaries, does not reflect Nepal or its stance.
“We sincerely apologize for error in the network map recently shared on our social media channels. The map contained significant cartographic inaccuracies regarding international boundaries that do not reflect the official stance of Nepal or Nepal Airlines,” it said.
The airlines further said that it took down the distorted map and also held a review to ensure its “materials meet the highest standards of accuracy”.
“We have immediately removed the post and are conducting an internal review to ensure our materials meet the highest standards of accuracy,” it said.

“We deeply value our strong relationships with our neighbours and friends in the region and regret any offense the post has caused,” it added.
The statement came after several social media users pointed out the distorted map and sought clarification from Nepal Airlines. Bhojpuri actor Khesari Lal Yadav also reacted to the post and said that tinkering with the Indian map was a “deliberate act” by Nepal Airlines.
“Can anyone tell me what prompted Nepal Airlines to tamper with India’s map like this, and that too regarding Jammu and Kashmir? This isn’t a trivial matter; it seems like a deliberate act. They call this kind of thing provocation,” he wrote on X in Hindi.
“Deleting the post and running away won’t do the job. You will have to answer. Apologize or else explain your intention as to why you did this? Such a calm and good neighbor, in the end, under what compulsion has it started making such a mistake?” he asked.
