Well-known economist Jeffrey D. Sachs believes that if India maintains its current economic pace, it can become a developed nation by 2047. He also gave important suggestions regarding India's global role, diplomacy and strategic independence, which can decide the future policy direction. Renowned economist Jeffrey D. Sachs has given a big statement regarding India's economic prospects. Speaking at an event of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, he said that if India maintains its current growth rate and policy direction, the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 can be achieved.
According to Sachs, India is a rapidly emerging power in the global economy today and can become a major pillar of global stability and peace in the coming years. He stressed that India should maintain balance in its foreign policy and avoid getting completely aligned with any one global power. He clearly said that India should not be a part of any United States-led alliance that is openly against China. Sachs believes that whatever disputes there are between India and China, it would be better to resolve them at the bilateral level only.
Sachs also expressed his opinion regarding Quadrilateral Security Dialogue and said that India should distance itself from it. According to him, India's historical inclination has been towards Non-Aligned Movement, which can be a relevant and balanced strategy even today. Apart from this, he suggested that India should get permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council and China should also support in this direction. Referring to the Developed India 2047 vision, he said that it is not just a goal but a roadmap for India's long-term economic and social progress, which can be achieved with the right policies and global balance.
