Rohit Sharma, who is all set to celebrate his 39th birthday on April 30, was excluded from the playing XI due to a hamstring issue. However, that could not deter the fans from showcasing their love for the Mumbai Indians veteran.

Fans Sing Happy Birthday Rohit at Wankhede

In a viral video posted from the stands, a sea of fans could be seen singing "Happy Birthday Rohit" as a unified choir. It looked to be an emotional sight in the stadium as the cheers only got louder with every passing minute.

One particular fan could be seen with his body painted in the team colours of Mumbai Indians, with "Rohit 45" written in the back. He also tirelessly waved the team flag to enhance the stadium atmosphere.

The special moment was enhanced by the fact that Rohit started his journey in Mumbai and Wankhede has always been his home ground. Despite his absence from the playing XI, the supporters left no stone unturned in making sure he felt the love.

Rohit to Miss More Matches Due to Injury

The cheers might have been joyful, but concerns remain around the fitness of Rohit Sharma. The Mumbai Indians batter has been sidelined for the past three games with a hamstring injury.

Confirming the same at the toss, Hardik Pandya said:

"Rohit's gonna take a couple more games. He's been trying, it's not up to exactly where he would want, so not available for the team."

Rohit would thus seem to miss further games. This comes as a blow to the Mumbai Indians in their campaign to climb the points table.
