In the presence of Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu recently laid the foundation stone of Google Cloud India AI Hub in Visakhapatnam. Google will invest approximately 15 billion US dollars in this project.
Google Cloud India AI Hub in Visakhapatnam will provide the necessary manpower, infrastructure, power and cooling facilities, which will benefit the state’s economy. Under this project, it is planned to set up a one gigawatt facility on 600 acres of land in Tharaluvada, Adavivaram and Rambilli areas.
This center will provide advanced AI cloud infrastructure and large-scale data storage services. AdaniConnex and Airtel Nxtra are partners in this project. Andhra Pradesh government aims to develop a 6.5 gigawatt digital hub across the state. The project is expected to create new jobs in AI, cloud services, cyber security and data science sectors. This will benefit large enterprises as well as other Indian AI startups.
Describing this project as a decisive achievement in Andhra Pradesh’s journey of progress and self-reliance, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this investment of about $ 15 billion over five years will create 5-6 thousand direct jobs and 20-30 thousand total jobs in the state.
