Mumbai: Amid the ongoing legal woes in the pornography case, actor-businessman Raj Kundra has called for a fair investigation, stating that he is ready to accept punishment if found guilty.

Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj took to his X handle on Wednesday and wrote, “Four long years in the lower court in the ongoing pornography case. Today, my advocate Prashant Patil concluded our arguments. I stand by the truth if I’m guilty, punish me. If not, grant me a discharge, my freedom, and the respect taken away by relentless media trials. Justice delayed is justice denied. #Justice.”

Emphasising that he has always respected the judicial system and cooperated fully with the investigation at every stage, Kundra admitted that the long delay in reaching this point has been extremely frustrating.

For the unversed, Raj was taken into custody by the Mumbai Crime Branch on July 19, 2021, in a case to alleged production and distribution of pornographic content.

Police identified him as a “key conspirator,” accusing him of being involved in creating and circulating adult material through subscription-based mobile apps.

They further claimed that the content was filmed in India and uploaded via overseas platforms to get around local laws.

The case was registered under sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, with authorities alleging that several people were part of the operation, handling production, distribution, and revenue generation.

Kundra has denied all allegations, insisting that the material in question was erotic and not pornographic.

He was placed in judicial custody and later granted bail in September 2021, after spending about two months in jail.

The case is still going on, and Kundra is now seeking relief from what a prolonged legal battle.
