Voting continues on Thursday for the West Bengal and Tamil Nadu assembly elections, where huge enthusiasm is being seen among the voters. Election Commission of India According to the latest data released by the ECI, till 3 pm, 78.77% voting was recorded in West Bengal and around 70% in Tamil Nadu.
Voting is going on in West Bengal from 7 am on 152 assembly seats in 16 districts under the first phase. The districts where voting is taking place include areas like Cooch Behar, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Malda, Murshidabad, East and West Midnapore, Purulia, Bankura and Birbhum.
At the same time, in Tamil Nadu, voting is being conducted in a single phase, where voters are participating enthusiastically.
Apart from this, voting is also going on in the by-elections being held in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Around 46.66% voting was recorded in Gujarat’s Umreth, while Maharashtra’s Rahuri recorded 39.60% voting and Baramati 40.36%.

Tight security arrangements have been made at all the polling stations and so far the voting process is going on peacefully. The Election Commission has appealed to the voters to ensure their participation in this great festival of democracy by voting in maximum numbers.
