Aadhaar Card No DOB: The Aadhaar card can no longer be used as proof of date of birth. UIDAI issued this information in a statement. The Aadhaar card will only serve as proof of the owner’s identity and home address. It will not be an official document for age or date of birth.

Why is the Aadhaar card not proof of DOB?
The Aadhaar card cannot be used as proof of date of birth, as the date of birth listed on it may be incorrect. UIDAI says that people often enter their date of birth by guessing. It also does not have any valid documents to verify the date of birth, meaning the date of birth listed on the Aadhaar card cannot be valid.

School or Birth Certificate Valid Proof
According to UIDAI, several courts and government departments across the country have clarified that Aadhaar card cannot be considered definitive proof of age or date of birth. Instead, a school certificate or birth certificate should be considered valid proof. To date, these two documents have been considered valid, and there have been no cases of them being inaccurate.

Which documents are valid for DOB proof?
According to UIDAI, if DOB proof is to be given then birth certificate, 10th mark sheet (SSLC), passport or DOB certificate issued by a government official can be submitted. UIDAI also considers these documents as valid proof of date of birth for Aadhaar card. This is not a new rule regarding DOB, rather the already made rule has been made more clear.

According to UIDAI, the Aadhaar card is a hallmark of Indian identity. Today, it’s used for virtually every purpose in the country. Bank accounts are linked to the Aadhaar card. Any document or license requires an Aadhaar card. Any government scheme requires an Aadhaar card. But be careful now, as lacking your DOB could hamper many important tasks.
