UP Police Recruitment 2026: Exciting news has emerged for individuals aspiring to join the Uttar Pradesh Police. This year, the state is gearing up for a significant recruitment drive, aiming to onboard around 100,000 new police personnel. Positions available include Constables, Sub-Inspectors, and Home Guards. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during a recent event where appointment letters were distributed to newly appointed police officers.


The Chief Minister emphasized that expanding the police force is crucial for enhancing law and order in the state. To achieve this goal, a comprehensive recruitment initiative is set to kick off this year. Vacancies in UP Police

As part of the UP Police Recruitment 2026 initiative, various positions will be filled. Some recruitment processes are already in progress, while notifications for additional roles are anticipated soon. Here are the preliminary details regarding the upcoming recruitment:



  • Civil Police Constable: 32,679 Posts

  • Sub-Inspector (SI/Daroga): Over 4,800 Posts

  • SI/ASI (Clerical Cadre): 537 Posts


Positions Awaiting Notification:


Jail Warder, Confidential Sub-Inspector, Radio Assistant Operator, Computer Operator Grade 'A', Special Security Forces, Mounted Police Force, Women's Battalion.


Educational Qualifications

The educational requirements for each role will be specified individually. For Sub-Inspector positions, candidates must have completed at least the 12th grade (Intermediate). Additional qualifications, particularly for clerical and technical roles, may include proficiency in computer skills.


Selection Process

The recruitment process for UP Police consists of multiple stages, including a written examination, a Physical Standards Test, and a Physical Efficiency Test. The Physical Standards Test will measure height, chest circumference, and weight. The Physical Efficiency Test will challenge candidates' endurance: male applicants must run 4.8 kilometers in 28 minutes, while female candidates must complete 2.4 kilometers in 16 minutes. Furthermore, the selection process includes document verification and a medical examination.
