Diego Pavia, the Heisman Trophy runner-up from Vanderbilt, has signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent, according to a source familiar with the situation.

The announcement came on Tuesday, although the team has not officially confirmed the deal. Pavia's signing occurs just before the Ravens' rookie camp later this week. Last season, he finished second in the Heisman voting, behind fellow quarterback Fernando Mendoza, but was not selected during the NFL Draft. Pavia's College Career At 5-foot-10, Pavia's height may have influenced his draft status, despite a noteworthy college career. He began his journey in junior college football at the New Mexico Military Institute before transferring to New Mexico State, and later to Vanderbilt, where he nearly led the team to the College Football Playoff. Legal Challenges and Advocacy Pavia is also the lead plaintiff in a lawsuit against an NCAA rule that counts junior college seasons against a player's Division I eligibility. This case is set for trial in February, and Pavia successfully obtained a preliminary injunction that allowed him to compete last season.
