HDFC Bank Credit Card Rule Change: If you are HDFC Bank customer and if you are using HDFC Bank credit card, then this news is very important for you. The bank has announced revisions to its reward points program and rules for airport lounge access. The new rules will come into effect from May 15, 2026, and will primarily affect insurance payments and premium credit cards.

HDFC Bank has made several significant changes to its ‘Regalia Gold’ credit card rewards program and airport lounge access. These new rules will come into effect from 15 May 2026 and will provide various new benefits to cardholders. To take advantage of these benefits, it will be essential to understand the specific changes involved.

What are the new benefits associated with travel?

As for Regalia Gold cardholders, they will now get a new perk. If customers upload their boarding pass within a ‘calendar quarter’ period, they will get two free benefits. These benefits include:

Complimentary spa services at select wellness centers.
Complimentary airport transfer via Uber. (Airport Transfers).
Buffet dining facilities at participating hotels and restaurants.
Complimentary Room Upgrades at Participating Hotels.
All these facilities are provided under ‘Travel Edge Programme’.

What is the new reward structure?

Earlier you used to earn 4 reward points for every ₹150 spent; However, from 15 May 2026, you will now earn 5 Base Rewards points on every ₹200 you spend. In other words, the way rewards are earned has been slightly changed.

Change in DCC charge

The ‘Dynamic Currency Conversion’ (DCC) charge applicable on international transactions has been fixed at 1.75%. This charge will apply whenever you make a payment in Rupees (INR) whether abroad or at foreign merchants.

What is the Card Re-issuance Fee?

If your card is lost or stolen, a reissue fee of ₹199 will be charged.

What is ‘Boarding Edge Programme’?

This is a new feature, through which customers can avail various benefits just by uploading their ‘Boarding Pass’. To avail this, log-in to SmartBuy Portal > Regalia Gold Benefits > Upload Boarding Pass > Avail Benefits.
