The mother of Afghan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, who played for PBKS this season, died on Monday. Expressing deep condolences in his message, Mohammad Nabi wrote that this news is very sad and he prayed for patience and strength for Omarzai’s family.

IPL franchise Punjab Kings also expressed support towards their player in this difficult time. The team issued an official statement saying that the entire family stands with Omarzai and will provide them all possible support in this hour of grief.
Could not play any matches so far this season
It is noteworthy that Azmatullah Omarzai was retained by Punjab Kings for IPL 2026 for Rs 2.4 crore. However, this season he has not yet appeared on the field in a single match.
Strong record in T20
Known as a right-arm fast bowler and aggressive batsman, Omarzai’s performance in the T20 format has been impressive. So far, he has scored 99 runs in 16 IPL matches and taken 12 wickets.
